Vineyards
In recent years large tracts of land have been bought up and planted with vines for winemaking, as the terroir is similar in qualities to some of the good classic French terroirs, with as much as 26 percent of the UK’s vineyards now in Kent. The prevailing Kimmeridgian limestone soils, the same as in Champagne and Chablis, make the area super attractive, which is why the producer of some of Champagne TaiWnger’s most elite Champagnes began buying up large parcels of land in Kent in 2015 and created Domaine Evremond.
